southbound

i spent much of the late morning and early afternoon folding laundry and watching old olympic videos narrated by bud greenspan. if there is ever a cure for feeling less than motivated, it’s watching recaps of athletes giving their all. while my efforts are much more pedestrian than those who i was watching, it did get me out the door for an afternoon constitutional.

the wind was from the southwest so i headed in that general direction by running on the glacial drumlin then south on the fox river trail. along the way, i passed the water treatment plant and picked up the pace a bit as the stench was foul. i crossed sunset avenue and made it a bit past hwy 164 before turning around for home with 5 miles covered in a few ticks north of 44 minutes. i ran the same route back home and covered the 5 miles return in 43:30 for a slight negative split.
