i remember now

i spent last evening at the local casino, which is a rare occasion at best. a band i’ve followed for more years than i care to disclose was in town and playing a show at the casino. i work only a mile or two from the casino so after work i went over and hit the $5 blackjack tables before meeting up with friends for dinner. i started slow but had some good patches and came out $70 ahead after about 75 minutes of play. i cashed out to hit dinner and ordered a 16 oz T-Bone as a reward. between the ticket and dinner…the $70 i won made for a free night of entertainment. (and the show was awesome)

i got in bed at midnight and up at 5AM to run. ended up with 7.6 at slightly under 8 minute pace. weather has cooled noticeably which makes for much more comfortable efforts. i ended up taking monday and tuesday off due to the rain/thunder/lightning that we’ve been having. timing was good for the time off considering my last long run was on saturday. i’m aiming for a semi-long run on thursday and an easy 5 miles on friday with Al’s Run on Saturday.
