“what a difference a year makes” were the words that my friend chris said to me after i had finished the Trailbreaker half with a new personal best. i couldn’t agree with him more. last year, i had a solid effort running the full marathon event of the Trailbreaker but i struggled through april and may without any sort of motivation to toe the line again with another race. put simply, it takes awhile to bounce back from running a bit further than twenty six miles.

recovering from running the half marathon has been much quicker and i’m beginning to consider some upcoming opportunities for racing. if i’m smart about it, 2013’s results could be even better than last year’s. additionally, the month of april ended well for me as i was able to roll one more mile than my previous best april mileage total.
