back at it

i took saturday and sunday off from running as my body is still rebounding from the IAT50K effort. i did get to catch up on sleep over the weekend and am starting to roll back into training. today during lunch i headed due north then skirted the local beach while running on a bike path. even that small change in route was good to liven things up for me. overall, i ended up with 6 miles at a little more than 49 minutes. (i do need to move back to running in the morning hours so i can fit in more than just 5 or 6 miles at a time.)

i’ve got to send congrats out to my friend ben who won his age group and had a personal record at a 5K in waukesha.

also, one last wrap up from the day-after-good-friday-snowstorm-run-at-the-pettit where my friend dana and others were honored for their part in saving a fellow runner’s life.

finally, big congrats go out to dana who not only qualified for BOSTON in 2009 but also went sub-3 with a 2:57 at the Green Bay Marathon on Sunday. he planned and executed a negative split of 1:30/1:27 which is downright genius.
