weekend wrap up
i got out for 7 miles on saturday morning. felt pretty good but was overdressed with a jacket plus long pants. i then took jade and alia out to lapham peak for the Smoky Bear fun run. we arrived to register and all the shirts were given out already. for $3 each, i wasn’t too concerned dana, erin and her parents arrived shortly after we did and we watched the 5k/10k finishes. jade & alia got to say hello to Smokey Bear before the run, which they thought was pretty cool. they lined up at the start and took off running. both had big smiles at the beginning of the race, and rounding the final turn jade had her "game face" on with a few yards left to the finish. overall it was a very positive experience for both girls.
i didn’t get the chance to run on sunday which is OK.
i got out for 7 miles this morning at 7:50 pace and felt pretty good. temps were in the mid 50’s, which won’t be commonplace in the near future.
