weekend recap

i got a late start on saturday morning and mustered 14 miles in sunny/humid conditions. i did negative split the effort with roughly a 62/58 for the 7m out and back on the glacial trail. i used the "gatorade endurance formula" for the first time…cutting it down with some ice. very salty but OK to drink.

sunday i got in 8.5 miles in much more comfortable conditions. the sun was out but the humidity was much lower. instead of an out-n-back effort…i changed the last few miles to loop south of our house and then come back north. (it gets boring always doing an out-n-back route)

this morning i ran 8 miles, down to frame park and back. it was much cooler today…likely into the mid 50’s or so. i’m working to "front load" this week so that i’ll be ready to run long this saturday. for the first 6 weeks of training for LFM i managed 291 miles…which is OK but roughly 70-80 behind what i had done for my two BQs. then again, i do remember burning out with 4 weeks to go on both those occasions. perhaps this timing will allow me to "peak" closer to the LFM.
