seven again

sunday morning i skipped running. i could have gotten out before church but opted to be lazy and go back to sleep.

this morning i headed into town on the glacial drumlin trail. i looped around and came back on madison for seven miles at around 8:30 pace. temps were very pleasant in the upper 50’s and the humidity was low.

go (sort of) long

i headed out shortly after 7AM with temps in the upper 40’s and a sunny sky. my GPS watch needed to be recharged so i ran without a timer. i headed south and picked up the glacial drumlin trail into town. i then picked up the fox river trail and headed south past the dump, crossed sunset drive and hwy 59 and turned around at about six miles. heading home, the temps were on the rise. a few cyclists passed by as i made my way back. by the time i made it home, temps were already into the mid 60’s. thankfully i didn’t opt for a long sleeve shirt this morning!

for the week, i did a little more than 46 miles. looking back over the prior 4 weeks, my weekly totals had been 42, 37, 33 and 20. not a bad progression.

MTD – 53
YTD – 919
Odometer – 25,257

weather or not

what a goofy couple of days in the land-o-cheese…

wednesday morning, temps were in the mid 40’s and i actually wore long pants and a long sleeve shirt for my seven mile run.

thursday morning, it was 70 degrees and high humidity. i ran 7.1 miles bringing my YTD value to 900 miles. i ran with my "hooters girl" orange shorts and white tank top. maybe i should consider shaving my legs…ok, maybe not.

today it was a repeat of thursday with temps at 70 degrees and very muggy due to the storms that came through overnight. i ran a slow 7.25 miles which brings my WTD total to 34 miles and change.

it looks like it’ll cool off over night so i’m aiming for a longer run tomorrow morning and get my WTD into the mid 40’s.

new shoes

i took saturday and sunday off from running. putting it delicately, i had a bug and didn’t feel that running would help things.

""monday morning i ran 5 miles at 8:05 pace and all was well. when i got home from work last night, my new pair of ASICS Gel Evolution II’s had arrived. comparing the tread on the bottom of my existing Evolution II’s to the new ones, i realized that they were more worn than i expected. i got a good price on the shoes…roughly $80 from road runner sports.

this morning i headed out with my new shoes with temps in the low 50’s. i passed a guy who was running along with a full sweatsuit and a stocking hat. i think someone forgot to tell him it was spring…or it was Rocky Balboa training for yet another fight. i ended up with 8 miles at 8:30 pace and hit the shower.

foggy friday

this morning was especially foggy and damp with temps in the mid-sixties. i found a pair of orange 3/4 split shorts and a white tank top and headed out the door. those uninitiated in the fine food of hooters may not recognize that the wait staff wears the same while serving up plates of hot wings. while i don’t think i’ll be mistaken for a hooters girl, there’s plenty of opportunity for jibes thrown in my direction if i were to wear them at a race. i ended up with seven miles in 58 1/2 minutes, bringing my weekly total to 42 miles with one day to go.
