january wrap up

clear sky with the moon lighting the way greeted me this AM. weather.com said it was 3 degrees outside, although i heard anywhere from -1 to 1 degree on the news. regardless, i ran 7 miles in slightly slower than eight minute pace. the roads were dry and very minimal snow/ice slowed me down. admittedly i’m getting tired of these temperatures. every day my eyelashes are freezing together after 30 minutes of running. even with a hat and balaclava, the sweat on my forehead begins to freeze at about the same time as my eyelashes are freezing together. miserable to say the least.

i did adjust my plans for BOSTON. my arrival in beantown was pushed back to 3:45PM on sunday and the expo closed at 6PM. i didn’t want to chance having a flight delay and not being able to pick up my number. instead i’ll arrive saturday afternoon and fly out on Monday evening. i changed my hotel as well. i found a more moderate priced hotel that is reasonably close to the airport and finish line with good access to the MBTA.

january finished with 202 miles on 25 days of running. 202 miles is a new personal record for the month of january…which is cool.
